About Western Subterranean Termites
As their name suggests, the Western Subterranean is the most common type for the western part of the United States. This means they can be found in Richardson, Texas.
Western subterranean termites build their colony underground. They enter homes in search of wood to eat by squeezing through the cracks found in foundations or other entry points they find. Termites can squeeze through cracks as small 1/16 of an inch wide.
Termites eat the cellulose part of the wood. Their damage is normally found on the first floor of the home and in the basement. Some of the different signs of termites include mud tunnels and a fine sawdust material laying around the outside of wood.
