Brown Recluse Spider

Brown Recluse: Typically has a dark violin-shaped mark, although the color may vary. The violin pattern is seen with the base of the violin sitting at their head and the neck of the violin pointing toward the rear.

These spiders are not generally aggressive and will bite only when they feel threatened. This is most generally when accidentally pressed up against the victim’s skin such as when they get trapped in clothing or when someone reaches unknowingly into a crevice where they are resting. They will seek dark, warm, dry environments such as attics, closets, porches, barns, basements, woodpiles, and old tires. Incidentally, most bites occur in the summer months.

Brown Recluse Bite

How Dangerous Is Their Venom?

The brown recluse venom is extremely poisonous. It is even more potent than that of a rattlesnake. However, recluse venom cause less disease than a rattlesnake bite because of the small quantities injected into its victims in comparison. The venom of the brown recluse is toxic to cells and tissues. Bites can start with little to no pain. However, bites can progress to a necrotic wound within days.

No matter if you need to remove poisonous or harmless spiders, our specialists would love to assist you. We will get rid of your existing pest problem and prevent future problems from coming.
